Hydrothon 2.0 is an initiative that is being organized by Rotary District 3232 as part of their Water Mission, organised by Rotary Club of Chennai ECR in association with the World Talent Economy Forum, Malaysia and GIEC, the Ganesan Incubation and Entrepreneurship Centre. The event consists of a competition that is open for young adults aged 16 to 30 with a passion for innovation and a desire to transform their communities. As part of the World Water Day on March 22, 2022, there will be 3 panel discussions. The winners of Hydrothon 2.0 will participate in 1 of these discussions and the other two panels will consist of eminent speakers from India and abroad who are specialists in Water, Policy. Governance and Technology For the competition the participants would be required to submit a project proposal that will address the water crisis; it could be a path breaking idea that translates into a design solution, a technical innovation, an effective campaign or identifying a policy change at an administrative level. Participants can work individually or combine their strengths into a team for stronger output. Five selected teams will be eligible for career defining opportunities in the form of cash prizes, possibilities to collaborate with potential investors, publish research papers in MDPI journals, access to a leading innovation lab in Japan and further their education at top universities.
